ClaroRead is a multi-sensory literacy tool that can be used by people of all ages and abilities that have difficulties reading and writing or dyslexia.

  • Changing the colour of the background and text in a web page or document can be used, especially for people with dyslexia, to make these easier to read.
  • A text to speech feature speaks back text while you’re typing, allowing quick and effortless proofreading, a block of text can be highlighted and read back or a word selected to be read out.
  • There is a homophone checker that will mark in colour all the homophones, words that sound the same as each other but are spelled differently, and confusable words in a document and will display a list of the homophones and their meanings, it will also mark homophones in colour as they are typed allowing them to be checked while typing.
  • The spell check in ClaroRead can be used in any application, whether its a word document, web page or PDF.
  • A single check combines the homophone dictionary, reference dictionary, spell checker and a thesaurus, there is also a meaning check that will check if there alternate words with the same or similar meaning.
  • A word check is also available that allows you to check the context for the current spelling, corrections that are made are also available for review at a later time and can be used to create a list of corrections you make regularly into a personal correction list.
  • ClaroRead has a word prediction tool that can be used in a couple of different ways to suit you. Whether its to complete the word from the letters you’re typing, a phonetic setting can complete words from the sound you’re typing, letters from within the word can also be used to find the word you need. You can create subject and curriculum specific dictionaries, and can also export word lists.
