The Origins of e-Quality Learning

e-Quality Learning was founded in 2010 by a former DSA student and is now the UK's leading specialist 1-2-1 AT training provider.

With first-hand experience of the challenges faced by disabled learners and the amazing help that assistive technologies can provide, we were in prime position to be successful at achieving this goal.

We realised that the most important factor in enabling learners to realize the potential of their assistive technology and to justify all of the investment that had went in to providing it in the first place, was to provide high quality training.

Unfortunately, at the time this was not what learners were being delivered. What we witnessed was learners being treated in exactly the same way. Training was completed on a checklist type system which led to learners not finding out the things that were most important and beneficial to them. Even when the right information was delivered, it was often not in a style that suited the way they think and learn.

It became obvious that what we needed were training specialist, and so e-Quality Learning was born.

The goal was simple; to provide a dedicated training service with professional, highly qualified trainers delivering exceptional, personalized training sessions. Doing this would lead to better use of the assistive technology, and ultimately, the success of the learners who use it.

Neuropsychologists

Building our Training Model

The first stage of making the best training company was to find the right people.

Our trainers needed to be dedicated with a passion for teaching. They needed to have the appropriate qualifications and they needed to be assistive technology experts. But it didn’t stop there.

To understand how to deliver that knowledge to the learner in a way that they could better learn and retain it, we brought in two neuropsychologists, Dr. Welsh and Dr. Makepeace. With their guidance, our trainers learned the theories of multiple intelligences and cognitive principles to allow them to deliver tailored training sessions.

The result of this system is that our trainers have the knowledge to make the correct decisions for each individual learner. This ensures our learners always get the most from their time with us.

Northumbria Uni

Building our Platform

We knew we had the best trainers and that we had developed an excellent framework for delivering high quality, tailored training, but we also knew we could do more.

We wanted to create a training platform that would assist our learners in managing their sessions receiving extra support and also to give them a voice. There was no central hub where they could do this, so we set out to build one.

We contacted Northumbria University and teamed up with the Centre for Design and Research. With their help, we designed a platform for our learners that would be every bit as good as our training.

The e-Quality Learning website was designed with the user in mind and allows learners to manage their training sessions like never before. We combined this with extra support in the way of video tutorials and a feedback capture system that means we always maintain our high standards as well as constantly look for ways in which we can improve.

Commitment to Quality

As part of our on-going commitment to quality standards, e-Quality Learning has obtained ISO 9001, ISO 27001, and ISO 14001 certification.
